The former Tanner's Fireside Inn and later the
Rusted Route (the signs still reflect this), bar/restaurant, Route 3, Town of Hounsfield,
Jefferson County. Abandoned for many years. In 1994, when it was
called 'Tanner's Fireside Inn', bartender Christine M. Vaadi, a divorced mother
of two, was cleaning up after business hours. Daniel L. Dumas stabbed her and
then set fire to the inn to cover up the crime, horribly burning the injured and
still-living bartender. She died from her injuries. Dumas pleaded guilty to
second-degree murder and first-degree arson and was sentenced to 20 years to
life in state prison.

Collapsing garage, County Route 13 & County Route

seems to have a personality all it's own as slowly leans more and more to the
south and returns to the earth..."
