Gerald D. writes "This building on the intersection of River Road and Douglas
Crossing Road was a gas station in the early thirties. It was occupied by a
family by the name of Jury. They lived in the back and gasoline was dispensed
from the front of the building. The state built a bypass from Douglas corners to
Coopers corners on the military highway, this doing away with local traffic. To
the very right of this building was the land office of La Farge for the
settlements of the French emigrants."
