with the bottom smaller than the top, with slots between vertical slats, is a
corn crib. Used for winter storage of corn, they were designed to help keep mice
and other critters from getting at the corn. Usually they are near the house of
the farm. They come in all sizes. At one time, every farm had one but they are
falling fast."

old building was going to be demolished. I think there is a smaller building in
back of it (or it might be this very building), where the few AmTrack riders get
on or off. The building for the potential train riders is depressing and doesn't
do the old home town any public relations good. The Village Board is still
keeping the $ 750,000 dollar grant to restore the depot in the piggybank. I was
told this summer that the rate-limiting step is acquiring properly-trained
renovators. I am beginning to doubt that. What would you call the little
architectural gems on the depot (Victorian, Gothic, Old World or some blend)?
This is where the properly-trained renovator shortage is impacting (I am told).
I imagine they will fix the parking area, too. It has more holes and dips in it
than a GM proving ground!"
